Kathleen Hadley Mickelson

Kathleen Hadley Mickelson, 74, passed away March 23, 2016 at her home in Layton. Kathy was born December 7, 1941 to Marvin Walter and Virginia Wright Hadley in Ogden, Utah. Kathy attended Ben Lomond High School. She married Lynn Glen Mickelson in Elko, Nevada on September 27, 1963. They were sealed in the Ogden Temple on September 27, 1973. Kathy loved spending time with her high school heart throb, Lynn. They were married when he came home from the Navy. She raised four beautiful daughters and loved them with all her heart. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who adored her. She loved being home with her family, cooking amazing food, doing crossword puzzles, reading and golfing with her sweetheart. She loved to travel and visited many places, but her favorite place to visit was Hawaii. Kathy had many church callings, but the ones she loved the most were the ones that included working with children. Her favorite flower was a gardenia, her favorite food was FRESH French fries, ask any of her grandchildren about fresh fries and they will have several stories to share. Lynn and Kathy served missions in the Atlanta, GA. Temple and the Washington, D.C. Temple for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Kathy always went without so others had plenty. Her love and generosity was adored by family, friends, and all that knew her. Kathy always pushed the importance of love and life, but never pushed too far. Her earthly body will be missed, but her presence will Iive on in her spirit and loving memories. Kathy is survived by her husband, Lynn Glen Mickelson and her daughters: Terry dSelkie (No. CA.), Chris (Gregg) London (Willard, UT), Tracie (Roger) Graven (Layton, UT) and Lisa (Mike) Lee (Ogden, UT); eight grand kids: Tiffiny Nichole Trujillo, Nathan Ray London-Mickelson, Jeffery Clint Baker, Ashlely Marie London, Chelsey Lynn Lee, Myrisa Angelica Graven, Austin Michael Lee, Braxtyn Gerard Graven; great-grandkids: Christian Baker, Giovanni LeGue, Mateo Valentin-Trujillo, Aiden Lee, Lexi Marie Lee, Bex Mickelson, Aly Stark, Mya Stark, Aksel Lee, Dreson Arellano; sister Diane (Clyde) Slaugh (CO); brothers: Thomas (Vivian) Hadley (UT), Paul Hadley (UT) and Robert Hadley (CA). Kathy is preceded in death by her father and mother; sister Marilyn Goddard; infant brother; and sister-i n-law Deb Hadley. Kathy had requested that in lieu of flowers please donate to the Utah Chapter Cystic Fibrosis Foundation (CFF.org) or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF.org). Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th St., Ogden Utah at 11:00 am. Friends may visit with family from 10:00 am to 10:45 am prior to the Service. Interment at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.
