Arthur Abbe Echental, M.D.

Dr. Arthur Echental, M.D., dermatologist, age 84, passed away February 20, 2018 in Stamford Hospital. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, May 15, 1933, interned at Bellevue Medical Center, New York, and did his residency at Stamford Hospital. He continued in private practice in Stamford for 55 years until his retirement. A lover of all the arts, including opera, classical music, sculpture and painting, he was a knowledgeable antique collector as well as an avid tennis player and sports fan. He travelled the world with his wife, Friederike and daughter, Naomi. They explored destinations such as Borneo and the Amazon region seeking all the varieties of nature he loved. Known for his comic sense of humor, he made very close friends who enjoyed his company and will miss him. He is survived by his wife and daughter. Donations in his memory may be made to Diabetes Research and Heart Research organizations. Arrangements are under the direction of Thomas M Gallagher Funeral Home.
