Marilyn Anne Forsten Obituary

Marilyn Anne Ward Forsten passed away peacefully on November 8, 2023. Marilyn was born in

Old Town, Maine on April 8 th 1937 to her parents Ierdell Ward and Alice Ward. She was the

oldest of three children. After high school she attended The University of Pennsylvania and

graduated with a nursing degree becoming a Registered Nurse. She then moved to Alvin, Texas

in the late 1960’s. Marilyn worked at several hospitals throughout the Greater Houston area.

Marilyn was known as Mom to her children and Granny by the grandkids. Marilyn enjoyed

drinking coffee and reading novels.


She is survived by her children Alfred Forsten Jr. and his wife Tammy, Barbara Moreau and her

husband Don, and Lisa Garza-Vela and her husband Carlos. Grandchildren include Andrew

Forsten, Skylar Forsten, Whitney Forsten, Salena Hernandez, Frank Hernandez, Roxanne

Hernandez and Great grandchildren.


Special thanks to the staff at St. Luke’s Health in the Houston Medical Center for their

compassionate care. We also wish to thank the many nurses and medical personnel that have

cared for her over the years.


John 11:25-26 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me

will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.”
