Richard Allman Brooks, Sr., 83 a resident of Chattanooga Tennessee grew up in the Park City community. Richard passed away November 12, 2023, at a local hospital. Richard was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, May 13, 1940, to the late John W. Brooks and Mattie M. Brooks, the youngest of 10 children. He attended Howard High School in Chattanooga, Tennessee and Washburn High School in Chicago Illinois.

Richard was a founding member of the "Impressions" formed in 1958. He was inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 1991, the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2003, and earned the Rhythm and Blues Foundation Pioneer Award in 2000. Richard was an avid lover of music and a great songwriter. His biggest hit was “For Your Precious Love”.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, two sisters, seven brothers and other relatives.

Survivors are his son, Richard A. Brooks, Jr; grandchildren, Joshua, Rakiyah, and Kaloni; a host of other relatives and friends.

Public viewing will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM, with the family receiving friends from 2:00 PM until the 3:00 PM hour of service in the chapel of the funeral home. Officiant and Eulogist, Minister Wilhemenia Hogg.
