Jacqueline Oewanna Wood, age 91 of Shelby Township, passed away November 11, 2015 at Henry Ford Hospital of Macomb in Clinton Township. She was born May 10, 1924 in Wayne County, Michigan to the late Cordelia and William Barns. She is survived by her three sons, David (Carolyn) Wood, Mark (Nannette) Wood and Timothy (Sandy) Wood; grandchildren, Jason (Lindsay) Wood, Brian (Kirsten) Wood, Aron (Amy) Wood, Todd Wood, Spencer Wood, Taylor Wood, Andrew (Stephanie) Wood, Jennifer (Daniel) Coben and Joey Wood; she also leaves eleven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter (2007); son, Daniel (1965); brother, Austin Barns and her sister, Viola Scott. Jacqueline was a homemaker most of her working life caring to the needs of her family. She devoted many hours as an early childhood caregiver at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Detroit for many years. She enjoyed millenary, decoupage crafts and sewing Christmas stockings for all her grandchildren. Even at her age, she enjoyed Facebook enabling her to stay connected with family. The family will visit with friends Sunday, November 15, 2015 between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM at Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home, 2125 Twelve Mile Rd.(Between Woodward Ave. and Coolidge Rd.) Berkley. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Monday, November 16, 2015 at the funeral home with her son, Rev. David Wood officiating. Additional visitation is 10:00 AM Monday before the service. Burial committal will follow the funeral home services at Woodlawn Cemetery in Detroit.
