Thomas Reed Cox Obituary

Thomas Reed Cox Jr. was born on November 6 1948 in Winfield Kansas. Tom went home to be with our Lord and Savior on November 5 2023. What a fantastic way to celebrate the eve of your 75th birthday! Thomas was known as Tom Dad and his favorite name Papa. Tom graduated from high school in Bluejacket Oklahoma in 1967. He was in his third year of pre-med with a 4.0 grade point average when he joined the Army. After the military Tom worked for the MKT Railroad as a train engineer for 34.5 years. Tom married Cheryl (Hasel) Cox in 1974. Cheryl was Tom's first and only love. They had numerous hours of fun playing Wahoo and other board games. Tom was a family man and loved being home especially in his garage where he could tinker fix and rebuild EVERYTHING. He loved being in his garage sometimes sitting for hours pondering reading his Bible and books about history. He also loved watching AND rewinding certain scenes in a movie repeatedly laughing just as hard the third time as he did the first. Tom chewed every bite of food thirty-two times. He was a man of few words and a great listener; when he did speak he was funny and quick-witted. When it was a serious conversation he always thought through his responses before speaking. Tom was preceded in death by his father Thomas Reed Cox Sr. and his mother Dialthia (Hilliard) Cox. Tom is survived by his wife of 49 years Cheryl and four children: Keri Little and husband Brad of McKinney Texas; Tammie Bable and husband Paul of Charleston South Carolina; Thomas David Reed Cox and partner Michelle Daniels of Driggs Idaho; and Rachel Mann and husband Adam of Mustang Oklahoma. He also left behind 11 grandchildren: Courtney Lundeen Tarrance Witten John Little Blaike Witten Colby Witten Katie Magee Levi Witten Casie Kennedy Dakota Mann Ryeah Mann Addyson Mann and 20 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Ramona Cox of Bluejacket Oklahoma; brother Darrel Cox and his wife Allisa of Fairland Oklahoma; as well as many nieces nephews and a host of friends. A graveside service will be held on Friday November 10 2023 1:30 pm at Harrah Memory Lane Cemetery 20451 NE 10th St. Harrah Oklahoma 73045. Please send flowers to AE Funeral Services 603 W.
