Willie Ivan Pickett, age 92, of Rocky Mount, Missouri, passed away at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri on Sunday, October 22, 2023.

Willie was born on December 25, 1930, in Sank, Missouri. He was the son of Mary Lou (Eaker) and Roswell Pickett. He graduated from Zalma High School in 1950 and shortly after enlisted into the United States Army where he bravely fought in the Korean War. On November 23, 1955, Willie was united in marriage Willie Marie (Hicks) Pickett in St. Charles, Missouri. They shared over 67 years of marriage together at the time of his passing.

Willie was a dedicated and hard worker and worked as a sheet metal worker at McDonnell Douglas for many years. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing. He also invested a lot of time in supporting as well as enjoying being a member of the VFW Post 2442.

Willie is survived by his wife Willie Marie, of the home; two sons, Phillip Pickett of Arnold, Missouri, and Craig (Melissa) Pickett of Eldon, Missouri; one daughter, Bonita (Dave) McCracken of Florida; as well as several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other extended family members.

Willie is preceded in death by his infant daughter Debra Francis Pickett and daughter Brenda Craven.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Willie’s name to the American Legion Post 229 in Eldon, Missouri or the VFW Post 2442 In Eldon, Missouri.
