Obituary
Eugene H. Vollmer, age 82, of New Holstein, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018, with his family at his side. He was born May 26, 1935, in Hilbert to Henry & Florence (Rehraurer) Vollmer. He graduated from Chilton High School in 1953. On January 16, 1954, he married Delores Sabel at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marytown. Eugene had worked at Kohler Company for 46 years; he retired in 2000. Eugene was a member of Holy Rosary Parish in New Holstein. He enjoyed ice fishing on Lake Winnebago. In his younger years, he spent numerous hours fixing cars with his brother, Terry. He is survived by his wife, Delores; six children, Donald Vollmer of Brown Deer, David (Susan) Vollmer of Sun Prairie, Debra (Richard) Gilles of Chilton, Donna (Denis) Mayer of New Holstein, Dennis (Sandi) Vollmer of Pewaukee, and Dean (Sue) Vollmer of Fond du Lac “St. Peter”; 12 grandchildren, Derek, Gina, Dustin, Brian, Kevin, Eric, Kurt, Juliana, Lauren, Brianna, Brett, and Kristi; five great-grandchildren, Dewi, Desmond, Beau, Ryker, and Owen; his brothers and sisters, Carol (Duane) Doede, Paul (Marilyn) Vollmer, Terry Vollmer, Jim (Sue) Vollmer, and Edith Franzen. He is further survived by his brother-in-law, David (Marian) Sabel; nieces; nephews, other relatives; and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry & Florence Vollmer. Private services and burial will be held Friday, February 23, 2018, at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery in New Holstein.
