In the early hours of February 20, 2018, Mr. Phillip Edward Wellborn, age 69 of Wilkesboro, went home to be with the Lord. He was greeted by his parents, who had been waiting for him. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, February 23, 2018 at Reins Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Faw officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the service at Reins Sturdivant Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Wellborn was born December 26, 1948 in Wilkes County to Zenna Green Wellborn and James Wellborn. Phillip came into this world with a lot of challenges, yet he overcame many of them. Everyone who met him loved him. He was a gentle and happy soul. Phillip attended ADAP where he held various jobs. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his two brothers; Tracy Wellborn and wife Joanne of Lexington and Wayne Wellborn of North Wilkesboro and two sisters; Gail Wellborn and Sheila Wellborn both of North Wilkesboro. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Donor’s Choice. The family would also like to thank all his friends at Avante, especially his pal, Brooke. They would also like to thank Lisa and David Hoots for all their help and loving support.
