CURRY, Douglas A - of Montrose, age 89, died Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Medilodge in Montrose. Funeral services will be held 1PM Friday, February 23, 2018 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Burial to follow in Montrose Township Cemetery. Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 4PM until 9PM and on Friday from 12PM until the time of service at 1PM. Douglas was born June 17, 1928 in Providence, Kentucky to the late Joseph and Burah (Martin) Curry. He married Mayme Silvey in 1953 in Dixon, Kentucky. She preceded him in death in 1996. Douglas was a United States Army Veteran, serving in Germany from 1950 until 1952. Mr. Curry retired from General Motors in 1983 with 32 years seniority. He enjoyed going to auctions, fishing, and hunting. Douglas also loved spending his summers gardening. Surviving are: Sons: Lonnie (Rebecca) Guinn, Harold (Carole) Curry, and Earl Curry; 8 grandchildren; Several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, and brother, Dennis (Wanda) Curry.
