She grew up in Breckenridge, TX and went to Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, where she studied and obtained a degree in Education with minors in History and English. She met the love of her life, Fred Wade, at a Valentine's Day dance. He said to a friend the night he met her that he was going to marry that girl. He gathered his courage, they dated, and they married on December 29, 1960 in Breckenridge, TX. After graduating college, Pat and Fred moved to Austin, where Fred went to law school and Pat taught school. They then moved to Corpus Christi, TX, where Fred joined a CPA practice and Pat taught school. Pat went back to college to obtain an additional certification in Special Education, teaching classes in Early Childhood and Special Education. Later, they moved to Wimberley, TX, where Pat finished her work career with Fred in his CPA practice before retiring. Pat and Fred loved their days in Corpus Christi and in Wimberley. She loved being a wife to Fred, and they went everywhere together. She loved her children, and her grandchildren were also her joy. Pat loved her church, singing in the choir, cooking, crafting and reading. She was very active in her church and local civic groups/clubs in Wimberley. Pat enjoyed entertaining in her home, as well, and her Christmas parties and Christmas decorations were well known and loved by all. She always had a smile on her face, a hand to help, and a way of making even new acquaintances feel like old friends. Patsy Jo went by Pat except when her grown children were having fun with her. The world has lost a very dear Mother, Nana, and friend. But she is now with her husband Fred and in the presence of our Lord Jesus, and for that we are very happy indeed. Mom, Nana, Pat fought a courageous fight with her Alzheimer's. She came in this world fighting and left this world fighting. I was so sorry to hear about Pat (and Fred, since I did not know he had passed away). They were very nice people who were active in First Baptist Church, Corpus Christi. As organist, I got to see them every Sunday they attended. It was a pleasure knowing them.
