LILLIE MAE (CLEVINGER) RATLIFF, 75 years of age of the Poplar Creek section of Grundy, VA, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018 at her home following an extended illness. Born in Grundy, VA, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Clevinger and Goma (Bartley) Clevinger Belcher. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a member of Harman Freewill Baptist. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and was a wonderful homemaker. Lillie was a cook in the Buchanan County School System and worked at Eastern Isles Sewing Factory. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Deek Ratliff Jr.; her daughter, Ava Gay Ratliff Viers; Step-Father: Lawrence Belcher; 3-Brothers: Buster, G.C. and Willie Clevinger. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Robert John Ratliff, Grundy, VA, Elizabeth “Liz” (Billy) Slone, Steele, KY, Sarah Victoria Lester (Tim Lawson), Bandy, VA; 9-Grandchildren: Tanika Estep, Makala Slone, Alyssa Ava Brooke Slone, Madison Swain, Amelia Lester, Xavier Lester, T.J. Lawson, Kayleigh Lawson and Elaina Lawson; 2-Great-Grandchildren: Jaxon Estep and Jordyn Estep; 2-Brothers: Eugene Clevinger and Ernest (Shirley) Clevinger; 1-Sister: Adeline Stiltner. Also, survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services for LILLIE MAE (CLEVINGER) RATLIFF will be conducted Friday, February 9, 2018 at Noon at Harman Freewill Baptist Church with Pastors: Eddie Wilson, Ronnie Sliger and Scotty Coleman officiating with burial to follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens, Claypool Hill, VA. Friends may call at the Harman Freewill Baptist Church Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 6:00 P.M. with services at 7:00 P.M. Active Pallbearers will be family and friends.
