Joann Kiser, 86, of Brazil, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly, February 3, 2018 while staying at Exceptional Living Center. She was born in Brazil, Indiana on May 30, 1931, the daughter of William and Clara (Hoopingarner) Girton. She graduated from Brazil High School and attended Purdue University. She worked at East Side School, in Brazil, as a librarian and teacher’s aide. She retired in 1996 after many years of service. Joann was a member of the Brazil 1st Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents William and Clara Girton, her husband James Kiser and a brother Donald Girton. Joann is survived by 3 children: Rahn Kiser of Brazil, Robert Kiser and wife Susan of Utah, and Susan Johnson and husband COL (Ret.) Craig Johnson of Plainfield; two grandsons Taylor and Christopher Johnson. Visitation will be at Lawson – Miller Chapel, 1702 E. National Ave. Brazil, Indiana, 47834 on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 from 4-6pm. Services will be held at the funeral home at 6pm. Burial will be held at a later date at Summit Lawn Cemetery.
