Leroy Tyler Obituary

Leroy Tyler, 72 of Gettysburg, PA passed away peacefully at the Gettysburg Center on Friday, February 2, 2018. Born March 24, 1945 in Burdette Mississippi, he was the son of the late Walter & Alice (Ellis) Tyler. He confessed his belief in Christ at St. John’s Baptist Church of Christ in Gettysburg. Leroy served faithfully as a devoted member of the men’s choir. Leroy is survived by a daughter, Gail James of Orlando, FL, two sons; Brandon Tyler and Jamar Tyler both of Gettysburg, six grandchildren. He is deeply mourned by his siblings; Mary Tyler, Mary Winters and husband Willie, Dorothy Johnson and Diane Tyler all of Greenville, Mississippi, Mildred Johnson, Easter Tyler, David Tyler, Willie Tyler, O.C. Tyler and Nathaniel Tyler and wife Aggie B. all of Gettysburg and Henry Tyler of Immokalee, Florida and a sister-in-law Ann Tyler of Detroit, Michigan and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters; Viola Amos and Alice Lee Tyler and two brothers; Jerry Boykins, Jr. and Eugene Tyler. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg with Pastor David Roberts, officiating. Burial will be private.
