Quincy - Ruth E. (Owen) Yudis of Quincy, formerly of Scituate and Braintree, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2023 at the age of 93.Born on July 25, 1930 in Springfield, Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Edgar D. and Mary (Vaughan) Owen.

Ruth attended Springfield Schools, then moved to Boston. In 1943, she attended Girls High School and graduated in 1948. She married the late Anthony J. Yudis in 1949, and had four children together. Ruth worked at the Army Corps of Engineers for 10 years. She worked at the Salvation Army until retiring and has resided at Brookdale in Quincy since 2003.

Ruth liked to walk Wollaston Beach and the Plymouth waterfront. She enjoyed going to Lobster Hut and Gennaros in Quincy. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them at SunSet Lake, her condo in Braintree, and going to Peaceful Meadows for an ice cream.

Loving mother of Janet Phillips (Tom), Kristine Croteau, Eric Yudis (Kathy), and is predeceased by her daughter Julie (Yudis) Porzio. Proud grandma of Nikolas, Shawnie, and Cody Pratt, Connor and Andrew Croteau, and Cameron Porzio.

Great grandma to Angelina and Vanessa White. Sister of Lorraine Hull and the late Russell Owen, and survived by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be on October 18, 2023 at the Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington St. in Braintree from 11:00 A.M.-12:00 with a Funeral Service at 12:00. Burial will follow at Braintree / Plain St. Cemetery
