Myrna J. Reed

Reed Myrna Reed (nee Reese), Myrna age 78 of Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains died Saturday, January 30, 2016. She fought a courageous battle with ovarian cancer for 8 years. She was an inspiration to many who shared the disease. She passed the way she lived with dignity, strength, and grace. Born in Washington, PA she lived most of her life in Pleasant Hills, PA before moving to NJ 2 years ago. She graduated from Washington HS Washington PA. Attended Robert Morris Business and worked as an executive secretary and later in retail sales with JC Penney Co and Macy’s. She loved to dance and travel and enjoyed her retirement spending time with her family. She was an active member of the bible study group at Cedar Crest. She attended Advent Lutheran Church, Wyckoff, NJ and was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Pleasant Hills, PA. Surviving is her devoted husband of 57 years, George Reed, her daughter, Bethel Borgeson, who was the light of her life, and her husband Roy of Wyckoff, her three grandchildren, Hannah Haas, who brought her excessive joy, Annie Borgeson and Henry Borgeson. Also surviving is her godson, Terry Syrek and Heather and her great nephew, Luke Syrek. She was preceded in death by her son Bradford S. Reed in 1979. Her family was the center of her world. Our beloved wife, mother, grammie, and friend will be greatly missed and unforgettable in our hearts forever. A memorial visitation will be held Friday, February 5 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 301 Curry Hollow Road, Pleasant Hills. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 6 at 10 am in the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 400 Old Clairton Road, Pleasant Hills. Everyone please meet at the church. Myrna’s final resting place will be at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA. immediately following the service. Condolences may be given at www.jeffersonmemorial.biz.
