Geraldine Asher, daughter of Gentry and Donna (Kerr) Parrack, was born December 31, 1928 in Macks Creek, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, January 23, 2018 in the Marshfield Care Center, at the age of eighty-nine years and twenty-three days. On August 25, 1948, Geraldine was united in marriage to Harold Deene Asher, and to this union four children were born. Her parents; her husband, Harold, on March 9, 2007; and her siblings, Velva North, Vaughan Parrack, G.D. Parrack, Jewell Waldren, and Coleen Newton preceded Geraldine in death; She is survived by her children, Janet Todd, of Lebanon, Missouri, Mike Asher, of Camdenton, Missouri, Johnny Asher and wife Vicky, of Jackson, Tennessee, and Susan Asher and husband Dave Embrey, of Nixa, Missouri; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends. Geraldine grew up in the Macks Creek area, was a graduate of Macks Creek High School. When she met Harold it was love at first sight, and together they shared nearly sixty years of marriage. She was a homemaker to her family for many years and later worked at Sunstrand for thirteen years. Geraldine had made a profession of faith and was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Geraldine had a loving soul and never met a stranger. She loved to laugh and kept her sense of humor until her final day. She cherished her family dearly. She was known for her chocolate chip cookies and always made sure that others were fed before her. In her spare time, Geraldine enjoyed reading, and gardening when able. Geraldine was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, January 28, 2018 in the Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
