For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord;
Rose Emeline Koosmann (88) peacefully left this world on August 28th, 2023.
Born in Colorado Springs, Colorado to Mitchell and Blanche, Rose grew up in Brighton Colorado where she met Jonathan. They were married a few years after high school and soon found themselves surrounded by the mountains of Durango, Colorado where they embraced all of the blessings and beauty that God and the seasons of the mountains bring.
Rose worked in accounting several years for Montgomery Ward and there after in the hospitality industry. Time passed and life found them traveling and moving for their occupations and finally landing them in the Austin, Texas area.
She was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Austin along with her husband where they supported many ministries.
Rose loved the mountains, square dancing, travel and all the joys and challenges that come with raising children, keeping a home and working full time. She loved to bake, and everyone near would receive gifts of cookies, cakes and candy during the holidays. She was a kind and loving wife and mother, a loyal and caring friend, and a devote Christian. Rose will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son Brad, daughter Cherise, grandsons Logan and Quinton and five great grandchildren.
Rose was preceded in death by her husband Jonathan, daughter Rhonda, three brothers and a sister Ruth Muncy and her husband Boyd.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Alzheimer's Association or Cancer Research Institute.
He restoreth my soul; he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake... and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
