<p>Eric H. Buchholtz, born December 18, 1966, in Levittown, PA, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2023, in Lexington, KY.<br></p><p><br></p><p>Eric was born to the late Wolfgang and Elisabeth Buchholtz, and he grew up with his brothers, Chris (Laura), Helmut, Pete, and sister, Cathy Pennington. In addition to his siblings, he is survived by his extended family, including his nieces, great-nieces and nephews: Kendall (Jesse) Wimsett, Evans Pennington, Clayton (Lily) Pennington, Lizzie Buchholtz, Nicholas Buchholtz, Chris Buchholtz, Carlie Fugate, Colton Fugate, Harper Pennington and Emilia Wimsett. He also had a special bond with his sister-in-law, Robin Fugate, and brother-in-law, Todd (Hillary) Fugate.</p><p><br></p><p>Eric was a devoted husband to his wife, Susan Fugate-Buchholtz for 25 years, and a loving father to his daughter, Lily Buchholtz. His family was his pride and joy, and he loved them with all his heart. His furry family, including Roxie, Cheesecake, Dot Dot, Grey, and Cookie Cola, brought immense joy to his life.</p><p><br></p><p>Eric was a respected stonemason and co-owner of Buchholtz Contracting Company. Alongside his brothers, he helped construct many commercial and residential projects in Lexington for over 20 years. He was also a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.</p><p><br></p><p>Eric had a zest for life that was evident in his many interests. He was an avid golfer and a loyal fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and University of Kentucky Wildcat sports teams. Eric loved spending time with his daughter, gathering with friends at Chinoe Pub, and was never one to shy away from a good laugh.</p><p><br></p><p>Known for his humor, Eric was a jokester, his laughter was contagious, and his big smile was unforgettable. In his passing, we remember Eric as a hardworking, caring, and fun-loving man who leaves many memories for his family and friends. Eric’s legacy will live on in the laughter he shared, the beautiful projects and spaces he helped create, and the love he had for his family.</p><p><br></p><p>A memorial gathering and reception for Eric will begin at 5:00 pm on Friday, September 22nd at Milward – Man O ‘War located at 1509 Trent Blvd. A celebration of Eric’s life will follow at 7:00 pm with Fr. Eric H. Buchholtz, born December 18, 1966, in Levittown, PA, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2023, in Lexington, KY.


Eric was born to the late Wolfgang and Elisabeth Buchholtz, and he grew up with his brothers, Chris (Laura), Helmut, Pete, and sister, Cathy Pennington.
