Obituary
Martha Lee Crum, age 96, passed away September 18, 2021 in Springfield Masonic Community after a year of failing health. Her two niece's and caregivers, Charlene (McDonnell) Curran and Christine (McDonnell) Bidlack, were by her side when she passed. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, the daughter of Charles Sr. and Lou McDonnell and was raised in Springfield, Ohio. She was a veteran of WWII, serving her country from 1945-1946. Martha married Hugh Bill Crum in 1947 and they began their travels living in numerous states through the years. Some of Martha's favorite destinations were Hawaii, Alaska and Phoenix, Arizona, which Martha called home for over 40 years before returning to Springfield, Ohio. She also enjoyed sewing, cruel-embroidery and socializing with her Eastern Star sisters. She is survived by five nieces, Charlene Curran, Christine Bidlack, Pat McKee, Dawn Liska Stover and Amy Liska Nicholl. Several great nieces and nephew's and three additional generations of nieces and nephew's. Martha was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Mary Jane McKee, brother Charles Jr., his wife Carolyn, nephews Charles McDonnell III, John McKee and her former husband and life-long friend, Bill Crum. There will be a private memorial at the family's convenience. Inurnment Ferncliff Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice or your favorite charity.
