<p>MIDDLETON - Maureen Kathryn (Dwyer) Kraemer, age 87, of Middleton, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023. She was born in Loreto, Wis., on May 16, 1936, to Edward and Eva Dwyer. She attended the Loreto one-room schoolhouse and Spring Green High School. She received her teaching certificate from Cardinal Stritch College and taught 3rd grade at St. John’s Elementary School in Spring Green. On July 18, 1957, she was united in marriage to Damian Kraemer at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Loreto, when she began her dream job as a loving wife and mother.</p><p><br></p><p>Maureen was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, friend and neighbor who will be missed by so many. She was an active member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and School in Middleton. She was a Girl Scout leader, a member of The Christian Mother’s Society, The Living Rosary, and provided meals for the homeless at Luke House, Madison. She was an excellent cook and baker, and avid reader and bridge player. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing and dancing. Maureen loved traveling with her husband, which included winters in the southern United States, a tour of Europe and other destinations, making lifelong friends all over the world. But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and long weekends with relatives and friends at her family’s homestead in Loreto, celebrating her Irish roots.</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by her children, Mary Kraemer Ginsberg, Damie (Joseph) Kraemer Elsen, Nancy (Hal) Kraemer Rosenberg and Mitchell Kraemer; four cherished grandchildren, Sarah, Mazel and Kathryn (David Ostrow) Ginsberg and James Elsen; her brother, Edward (Pat) Dwyer; her brother-in-law Damian Needham, and many treasured friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jim; husband, Damian; and sisters, Florence and Mary Ann.</p><p><br></p><p>Maureen was lovingly and compassionately cared for by her son, Mitchell, in her final years. Her family feels blessed to have been a part of such a wonderful person’s life.</p><p><br></p><p>A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 7450 University Ave., Middleton, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, with Father Brian Dulli presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass. MIDDLETON - Maureen Kathryn (Dwyer) Kraemer, age 87, of Middleton, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, Sept. 18, 2023. On July 18, 1957, she was united in marriage to Damian Kraemer at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Loreto, when she began her dream job as a loving wife and mother.


Maureen was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, friend and neighbor who will be missed by so many. She was an active member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and School in Middleton. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be held at St. Patrick’s of Loreto Cemetery at a later date.
