Archie McDougall

Peacefully passed away at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) on Friday, September 15, 2023 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Lillian (nee Bertolo) for 54 years. Devoted father of Neil (Mary), Laura Strachan and Sheri Brisbane (Mike). Cragg was very proud of his grandchildren - Hailey McDougall (Joel Silva), Keegan McDougall, Jessica Strachan, Jonathan Strachan, Dawn Brisbane, Kris Jeffers (Magda Prusaczyk), Amanda Alcorn (Andrew Henriques), and Jade Alcorn. His great grandchildren - Hazel White and Leandro Henriques provided him great joy. Cragg’s two cats - Friskie and Patch will miss him dearly.

Cragg was born in Gore Bay on Manitoulin Island, raised on the East Bluff and was proud to be a Haweater. He was predeceased by his parents Neil and Leila McDougall and his brother Bob McDougall and is survived by his sister Linda Trick (Max). A piece of his heart always remained on the Island.

The family invites those that were fortunate to have known Cragg to celebrate his life with them at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Thursday, September 21, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or ARCH would be appreciated by the family.
