<p>Jack Cranford Nance, 97, of Asheboro, died Saturday, September 16, 2023 at his home.</p><p><br></p><p>A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 20, 2023, at First United Methodist Church, where he was a member, with Rev. Lynda Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by The Randolph County Honor Guard.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Nance was born on August 6, 1926, in Davidson County, son of the late Troy Nance and Sadie Cranford Nance Little. Mr. Nance honorably served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He graduated from Denton High School. Mr. Nance worked at First National Bank, D &amp; N Mobile Homes and later owned and operated This 'n' That Shoppe. He enjoyed yard work, bowling and golfing and was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and ACC Basketball.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his parents, Mr. Nance was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Nance and brother, Larry Little.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his daughters, Ann N. Shaw, of Asheboro, Kay N. Freeman, of Mint Hill, NC; sisters, Colleen Pinson of Asheboro, Troy Jean Nance of Farmer, Lottie Buie of Denton, Sara Sendecki of Tampa, FL; brother, Sidney Little of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Carey Shaw, of Asheboro, C.T. Shaw (Holly) of Leland, NC, Brent Beasley (Mark) of Hartsville, SC, Abby Lesslie (Robbie) of North Charleston, SC, Jordan Amaker (Marcus) of North Charleston, SC; and nine great-grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., at the church prior to the service.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mr.Nance's caregivers, Wanda, Cheryl, Stacey, Treann, Ernest, and Cynthia.</p><p><br></p><p>Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 224 North Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27203; or to Four IV for Cystic Fibrosis, 524 Kingsworth SE, Leland, NC, 28451.</p>
