Ila L. Stuart, 80, of Weirton, WV, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018, at her home with her family by her side. Born May 10, 1937, in Steubenville, OH, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Jane Barnes Cooper. Ila was also preceded in death by her husband Edward J. Stuart, Jr. on May 26, 2017, and six brothers and sisters. Ila retired from Weirton Steel Corporation after many years of service. She treasured raising her family and the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Mercy Baptist Church, Weirton Steel 25 year club and the Weirton Steel women’s organization. Every month she could be found visiting with her Weir High Class of 1955 friends at Eat’n Park. Ila is survived by her son Michael Stuart (Terri) of Magnolia, TX; daughters Robin L. Hill (James) of Weirton, Lori Alfieri of Jersey City, NJ, and Chelsea Stuart of Tampa, FL; seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, a niece and several nephews. Friends will be received Thursday from 6:30 until the 7:30 pm memorial service at Greco-Hertnick Funeral Home, 3219 Main Street, Weirton. Reverend Larry Barkley will officiate.
