Harold Dean Brown Obituary

Harold Dean Brown, age 87, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, passed away at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023, at the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Mt. Vernon. He was born September 2, 1936, in Lawrence County, Missouri, the son of Elmer and Mattie (Doss) Brown.


Harold was a United States Navy veteran during the Korean War and worked in quality control for the Silgan Can Factory in Mt. Vernon, Missouri.


Harold is survived by two daughters, Cindy Woodbury and her husband, Russ, of Aurora, Missouri and Nancy Phillips and her husband, Lance, of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; two sons, Jack Brown and John Brown, both of Mt. Vernon, Missouri; five grandchildren; two brothers, Troy Brown of Virginia and Carl Brown of Colorado; previous step-daughter and step-grandchildren he loved as his own and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer, and Mattie; eight brothers, Wayne, Cecil, Fred, Floyd, Raymond, Bob, Bill, and Jim Brown; three sisters, Nova Little, Lucille Huffman and Martha Brooks and one grandson, Kyle Brown.


No services are planned at this time. Arrangements are under the direction of the Fossett-Mosher Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon.
