Olga Ferguson Obituary

Olga Ferguson of Spurgeon, IN passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her husband and children on September 5th, 2023, at the age of 84.

She was born in East Germany on May 27th, 1939. Her father, Karl Krieger went to war and never returned. At the close of the war the family was forced to move out of Poland and, after many stopovers, settled in Dannenfels, Germany. At the age of 15 Olga set out on her own and lived with families in the Rhineland area doing housework and chores. At 17 Olga got a job working at Landstuhl Air Force Base where she met her husband-to-be, Don Ferguson. They were married on November 18th, 1958, and were together for 64 years.

During her lifetime, Olga worked at many different jobs doing whatever was necessary to take care of her husband and children. Cafeteria work, sewing (she once sewed 5000 curtains for the Air Force Base in Leon, France), furniture manufacturing, turkey processing and then as a USDA Food Inspector.

Olga loved embroidery, petty point, crocheting, oil painting and needle point. But her greatest love by far was auctions. Rarely did she miss an auction.

Olga was the daughter of Karl and Ida Krieger, both deceased and the stepdaughter of Paul Ahlschlaeger, also deceased. Olga’s siblings, Victor Krieger and Melina Savoia, both preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband, Don Ferguson; her children, Larry and Monica and her grandchildren, Stefan Ferguson, Lauren Ferguson, Kristine Ferguson and Logan and Allison Ferguson.

Olga a most amazing wife and mother was the rock of our family. Her personality was such that people who met her just fell in love with her.

She will be missed beyond comprehension. As her husband would say – “SHE WAS MY EVERYTHING.” Rest in peace honey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are preferred to Spurgeon Cemetery.
