MAGARET PENNY HUGHSON KELLEY, of Braintree, passed away peacefully at the Accent Care Nursing Home in Milton, MA on September 04,2023 after a two year battle against breast and brain cancer.

Penny was a graduate of Quincy Community College, Quincy MA.  She had a career as a legal secretary and as a sales associate for various retail stores at South Shore Plaza, Braintree, MA.  She recently retired from Bath and Body Works after 28 years of dedicated service.

Growing up, was a member of Rainbow and The Order of The Eastern Star, two Masonic service organizations. Her husband Francis, and her son Christopher followed her tradition and are active members of Massachusetts Freemasonry.

Growing up as well, Penny was a figure skater and participated in skating competitions in Boston and on the South Shore.

Penny enjoyed traveling with her family. She visited Washington D.C., Williamsburg, VA. Atlanta and Savannah, GA., Asheville, NC., Baltimore MD., and Philadelphia, PA. Her favorite travel destination was visiting the Gilded Age mansions in Newport, RI.

In her spare time, She found peace and tranquility in the "outdoors" by going camping and having cookouts with family at the local state parks.

Penny is proud of the fact that she is a descendant of four of the original Pilgrims coming to America on the Mayflower.

Penny was the loving daughter of Nathaniel and Margaret Nichols Hughson of Milton, MA. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Francis A. Kelley, three children Christopher Nathaniel Kelley, Shannon Elizabeth Kelley, and Kevin Scott "Kelley" Medeiros  and six grandchildren, Aiden Scott Medeiros, Caleb Nathaniel Kelley, Tristan Gabriel Kelley, Everleigh Mae Cummings Kelley, Autumn Eve Cummings, and Tayla Leigh Cummings.

In Memory of Margaret, pink flower bouquets would be appreciated. Flowers should be delivered  to the Russell & Mortimer N. Peck Funeral Chapels, 516 Washington Street, Braintree, Mass. 02184.

Service Times:

Visitation on September 8, 2023 from 4 to 8 PM, at the Peck Funeral Home 516 Washington St. Braintree, MA 02184.

Church service on the following Tuesday September 12, 2023 at the East Milton Congregational Church 610 Adams Street Milton, MA 02186 from 11 AM to 12 noon, with the burial to follow at 12:20 at the Milton Cemetery at 211 Centre St., Milton, MA 02186. A Collation will be held at the Church Hall following the Burial at Milton Cemetery, all are invited.
