Herbert Lee Sandker, Sr., 87, of Gravois Mills, Missouri passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023. He was born on May 28, 1936 in Hallsville, Missouri; a son of the late Bill and Mary (Williams) Sandker.

Herb married the love of his life, Thelma Jewel Diehl on September 3, 1955. They were married nearly 68 years. He served in the Army Reserves during the Korean War. Herb worked and retired from the City of Fulton Utility Department. Herb, Thelma, and family lived in Fulton, Missouri but later moved to Kirksville, Missouri. The family would eventually settle at the Lake of the Ozarks. He loved visiting with friends, fishing, and cutting wood. Herb would get a rotation of new interests throughout his life such as wood carving, gardening, a bait shop, and a greenhouse.
Herb is survived by his sons: Herbert Sandker Jr. (Rhonda), James Sandker, Steve Sandker; sister, Mary (DeAnn) Claxton; five grandchildren, twelve great- grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Helen Jenkins, Dorothy Hagan, Maurice (Jack) Sandker; daughter-in-law, Mrs. James (Linda) Sandker; granddaughter, Brooke Lea Sandker.
