Larry G. DeSutter 55, of Decatur, IL passed away at 5:15 p.m., Thursday, December 7, 2017, in his residence. A Vigil Prayer service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Monday, December 11, 2017, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 3950 Lourdes Dr., Decatur, IL 62526. The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church, Monday evening. Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Larrys life will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday December 12, 2017, in Our Lady of Lourdes Church with Rev. Rick Weltin, Rev. Joseph M. Molloy, and Rev. Mark DeSutter, celebrating. Burial will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Woodhull, IL at 3:15 p.m., Tuesday afternoon. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Church or the Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois Charitable Fund. Dawson & Wikoff North Chapel is assisting the family with services. Larry was born in Galesburg, IL on July, 30, 1962, the son of Maurice and Darlene (Moens) DeSutter Jr. He married Rae Ann Caldwell on June 29, 1991. From that union a son, Nathan DeSutter was born and Nathan currently studies as a senior at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. Larry was a graduate of AlWood High School in Woodhull, IL in 1980. He furthered his education at Southern Illinois University Carbondale obtaining an Agribusiness Degree in 1984. He has worked at the USDA/FSA offices in Galesburg, Albion, and Decatur. He spent three years as a Program Technician in Galesburg, seven years as a County Executive Director in Albion and twenty one years as County Executive Director in Macon County. He is a life-long member of the Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity at SIUC, belonged to IASCOE and NASCOE, FFA, 4-H, and a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He enjoyed watching and helping Nathan with his sports such as golf, baseball, and football. He was a life-long Cubs fan. Go Cubs Go! Surviving are his wife Rae Ann of Decatur; parents: Maurice and Darlene DeSutter Jr. of Woodhull, IL; son: Nathan DeSutter of Milwaukee, WI; siblings: Randy and Susie DeSutter of Woodhull, IL and their children Matthew and Kristin, James and Kimberly DeSutter of Woodhull, IL and their children, Andrew (Adrienne), Levi and Dana. Mike and Melanie DeSutter of Woodhull, IL and their children, Charlene (Luke), John and Madelaine. Jayne and John Kittell of Naperville, IL and their children Emily, Connor, and Lauren. He is also survived by his Mother-in-law, Janet Caldwell of Gurnee, IL, Sister-in-law, Jill (Bob) Anderson of Cedar Rapids, IA and their son Matthew, Brother-in-law, Rex (Kelly) Caldwell of Tomah, WI and their children Trey and Taylor. Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, three grandnieces, Everly, Rosie, and Emalyn and one grandnephew, Jax. Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Maurice DeSutter Sr. and Mary Grymonprez DeSutter, August Moens and Clara DePaepe Moens and father-in-law Richard Caldwell.
