Edythe Ford Obituary

Edythe Bushman Ford of Braintree and Cohasset died peacefully at her home on Tuesday morning surrounded by loved ones.
Known lovingly to many as Mamoo, the widow of Dr. Wendell Ford took over his dental clinic and ran the practice for nearly 20 years, making her one of the first female business owners in the state's history.
She went on to start the successful Ford Model Shoppe with her daughter Candy which remained a staple in the Boston fashion scene for almost 30 years.
A lover of animals and the arts, Edythe was an active supporter of the causes she cared about. She’d be the first to tell you she preferred animals to people.
She is survived by her children W. Gary Ford, Candace Ford, her grandchildren Fletcher Smalzel, Colby Smalzel, and the many people who knew and admired her.
Edythe’s life will be celebrated at Peck Funeral Home in Braintree on 8/10 from 11-1. Colorful attire is encouraged to commemorate this vibrant woman.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to “World Wildlife Fund” www.worldwildlife.org
