Marian L. Beier, 89, of Clyde, died at her home on Friday, July 28, 2023, following declining health.
Mrs. Beier was born in Sandusky County on August 27, 1933 to the now deceased Mildred (Fought) and Carlton Schwan.
She was a graduate of Clyde High School in 1951.
Marian was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Clyde, where for 25 years she had managed the Bingo, prior to her retirement. She was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society at the church. She had been the Past President of the former Business and Profession Women of Clyde, as well as a former Hospice volunteer.
Mrs. Beier enjoyed art of many mediums, flowers and gardening, and cooking. She loved to be with her family and travel.
For 21 years, before retiring, Marian, had been in customer service at the former Clyde Savings Bank.
On October 30, 1951, she married Donald P. Beier. He preceded her in death on February 10,2010.
Their five children, John Beier of Miami, Florida; Sylvia Hodgkinson of Colorado; Tom Beier, Mike (Nancy) Beier and Vicki (Ron) Meade all of Clyde survive. Fifteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, a brother, John Schwan of California and sister, Carol Hoffman of Clyde survive as well.
Mrs. Beier was preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Whitting and Phyllis Eads, her son-in-law, Jim Hodgkinson and her companion/friend, Paul Ohms.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 3:00pm – 6:00 pm at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 South Main St., Clyde, Ohio. The funeral mass will be on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 10:30 am at St. Mary Catholic Church, burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Parkinson Association or St. Mary Church or the Diabetes Association.
