Alma L. Taylor Obituary

Alma L. Taylor, 85, of Rostraver Township, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 20, 2023. Born in Gillespie on May 9, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Louise (Richardson) West.


Alma worked for the Central Kitchen in Donora and Meals on Wheels before assuming the role of homemaker for her family. She was a member of Bible Alliance Church in West Newton. She enjoyed camping, sewing, crocheting and worshipping in church. Alma was very family oriented and loved spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.


She is survived by her husband, Roy P. Taylor, whom she married on July 24, 1959: son, Timothy (Terri) Taylor of Rostraver; daughter, Laurie (Bruce) Pokol of Rostraver; grandchildren, April (Brian) Colditz, Stephanie Taylor, Heather (Cody) Amprim, Erin (Sean Bavuso) Pokol, Kate Zuzak, Sarah (Jeff Hart) Pokol, John Pokol, Gayle Pokol and Jesse Pokol; great grandchildren, Brian "Bubby" Colditz, Joshua Colditz, Alyxandra Colditz, Faith Boyd, Mason Amprim, Roman Amprim, Leon Amprim, Melody Pokol, Matthew Bavuso, Patrick Bavuso, Trevor Zuzak, Ava Zuzak, Owen Zuzak, Wayne Zuzak and Avery Hart; sisters, Vivian Conn of Star Junction and Sharon (Scott) Hogg of Connellsville.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Rita Balentine, Thomas West and Harold West.


Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the James C. Stump Funeral Home Inc., 580 Circle Drive, Rostraver Township (724-929-7934) www.jamesstumpfuneralhome.com Additional visitation will take place on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bible Alliance Church, 1300 Mt. Pleasant Road, West Newton, where a Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Frank Todaro officiating. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery.
