Vergeal Stan Guy was born on June 23,1957, to the late Leonard Guy Sr. and Edna L Guy in Hartsville, South Carolina. At an early age, Stan and his family moved to Paterson, New Jersey, he attended the Paterson School system and later took courses at Burlington Community College Burlington, New Jersey.

Vergeal was the proud father of two sons David McCoy and Tariq Kelsy.  In 1992, he met the love of his life, Kathleen Crutchfield.  They remained devoted to each other for 31 years until his death.  After a few years of living in new Jersey Stan and Kathleen moved to Wadesboro N.C.

On July 10, 2023, Stan passed away after a courageous fight with cancer.

He had many skills and talents but his passion was Breeding dogs (Yorkies and Chinook), which earned him the Title “Dog Man”.

He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Edna Guy; his son Tariq Kelsy; sisters Natosha ”Tosha” Patterson; and Carole Pickens;  his in-laws Raymond Taborn, Arlene Pickarski and steven Jackson.

Vergeal leaves to cherish found memories: Kathleen Crutchfield, his companion; his son David Mccoy; his siblings Phyllis M. Guy-Jackson; Leonard ”Steve” Guy Jr; Dematia C, “ Meme” Watson (James) Dennis Guy; Lyndon “Tommy” Guy; Susan B.”Cookie” Guy;  Carlenea Seabrooks; and  a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
