Richard: Aurele The family of Aurele Richard sadly announces his passing on Sunday, December 31, 2017 after many years of prolonged illness and suffering at the age of 73 years. Aurele was born in St. Norbert, New Brunswick to Bertha (nee LeBlanc) and Augustin Richard, both predeceased. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee McCann) of 45 years. Dear brother of Yvon (Pauline, predeceased), Normand (Cathy), Paul (Agnes), Augustin (Gail), Guy (Laurie), Aline, Rose Mai, Patricia (Dave) all of Hamilton; Edgar (Jackie), Sylvio (Marilyn) both of Red Deer, Alberta; and Ronald (Philio), Lina (Robert) Gallant of New Brunswick. Brother-in-law of Greg (Helen), Carolyn, Bob (Esther), Susan (Jim), Stan (Isobel), Ric (Barb) and Judy (Mike). He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, family and friends. Aurele was the proud member of the Optimists Club of Waterdown for over 35 years and a former employee of (Bonar) Hood Packaging, Burlington. With the courageous gift of Augustin’s kidney, Aurele was able to live his life to the fullest for an additional 21 years. Visitation will be held at KITCHING, STEEPE AND LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 7 – 9 p.m. where a Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at 11 a.m. Reception will follow. Private Cremation with interment in the spring at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Burlington. A special thank you to St. Joseph’s Hospital renal transplant clinic, especially Dr Gangji and nurse Cindy who provided excellent care and to his family doctor Dr. Middlebrook. If desired, donations to St. Joseph’s Healthcare Foundation, Hamilton would be appreciated by the family.

Here's to the memory of that long trip to Myrtle Beach to play golf those many years ago.
21 hours non-stop in the back of a station wagon with three of us in the back seat - quite a 'tight' adventure I hope you found it worthwhile. Brings back fond memories.
