Nichole Bouma of Yankee Springs, MI passed away on July 4, 2023 at the age of 38.

She was born April 29th, 1985 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to parents Albert and Cheryl Bouma (Steltzner). Born just five minutes after her twin sister Tawnya, the two were a package deal from the earliest of ages. Even up until Nichole’s passing, they created many cherished memories of living together, travels, adventures, and meals shared. In addition to leaving behind her twin, her absence and loss affect many who love her. She was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Herman and Madelyn Bouma (Vissia) and maternal grandparents Donald and Freida Steltzner (Krepps). Nichole is survived by both parents, siblings Jason Bouma and Hilary Perry-Bouma, Tellious and Tawnya Scott (Bouma), Stephanie West, and Brian and Mikaela Bouma (Mason); nephews Ethan and Connor; and niece Samantha. She also leaves behind uncles, aunts, many cousins, and friends.

Nichole was a graduate of Jenison Public High School in 2004 and was known for her quick wit, her spirit of helpfulness, and her overall kindness. In the years since school, she spent ample time as a CNA in a variety of settings including assisted living, home health, and adult foster care homes. The latter was a particular passion project for Nichole. She was dreaming of a next season where she would be able to open up her own adult foster care home. Sadly, this will not be in her story, but in lieu of flowers, please consider supporting a local adult foster care home or assisted living program in memory of her.

While Nichole is no longer with us in person, the ripples she has left in the lives of loved ones will be remembered. She was daughter. She was sister. She was friend. She was caretaker. She was beloved.

Nichole's family will receive friends on Monday, July 10, 2023, 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Beeler-Gores Funeral Home where her funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM.
