“Loving Wife, Mother, & Friend” Sonja Marion Scott, 50 of Oak Ridge passed away December 24, 2017 at Methodist Medical Center. She was born September 8, 1967 in St. Louis, Missouri to parents Floyd Marion Downs and Buretta Marsee Downs. Among her hobbies she enjoyed cooking, loved music and attending concerts, was an avid reader, and an animal lover especially to her canine friend, Leo. Being such an exceedingly kind person, she never met a stranger and would help anyone. Sonja was preceded in death by her father and sisters Cathy Downs, Tammie Kay Jessup, and Karen Michelle Tudor; sister-in-law, Ramona Scott Lee. Her survivors include: Husband, Randal Thomas Scott; Daughter, Ashleigh Nicole Scott and wife, Victoria Scott; Mother, Buretta “Rita” Chaney and step-father, Eugene Chaney; Sister, Carma Jessup, Best friend; Debbie King Nieces and nephews, Derrick Coleman, David Jessup, David Parton, Corey Jessup, Jessica Tudor; Mother-in-law, Peggy Scott; Brother-in-law, Frank Lee; Paternal nephew and nieces, Dylan, Maygen, and Krysten Lee.
