James Samuel "Sam" Rogers age 73, of the Mountain City community, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. Sam was born in Mountain City on April 19, 1950, son of the late James Rogers and the late Senia Southards and her husband Bobby.
Sam was raised in Rabun County and loved living on Black Creek, which he very seldom ever left. He loved to hunt and fish, and his favorite hobby was his garden. Sam was a man of God and an amazing prayer warrior. Everything he did in life he did with a big heart and for the glory of God.
Surviving him is one sister, Donna Young (Scott) of Mountain City; one niece Stacy Owens (Lance) and their daughter Ella; one nephew Bobby Young (Amberly); several aunts, cousins and friends also survive.
Visitation hours are 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday, June 16, 2023, at the Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held in Taylors Chapel Community Cemetery, 2:00 PM Saturday, June 17, 2023, with Rev. Jeff Houston officiating.
