Tucker Joe McCallie Obituary

Tucker Joe McCallie, of Yukon, age 18, passed away on May 31, 2023. He was born on May 18, 2005, in Norman, OK, to Bobby Joe and Rebecca (Roberts) McCallie. When he was 11 months old, Tucker was diagnosed with Costello Syndrome. Throughout his life, he fought hard through many difficult times, defeating many odds and inspiring everyone around him.

Tucker would go on to attend school at Mustang Trails Elementary, Meadow Brook Intermediate, as well as Mustang Central Middle School. He enjoyed his time at school with his teachers and friends.

The last three years, Tucker spent most of his time in and out of the hospital, but it was during these difficult days that Tucker made some of his best friends: the doctors and nurses and staff who cared for him.

Tucker was a 4x Special Olympics Gold Medalist in the 25m walk. He was also selected as a Make-a-Wish recipient.

Tucker loved people and touched many lives. He loved music and dancing, particularly when Justin Bieber was playing. He was ornery and loved to hide car keys and pick people’s pockets. He loved electronics and playing on his iPad. He was always ready to get in the car and go for a ride. He loved spending time at the lake, and he especially loved summers spent swimming at Mimi and Papa’s.

Tucker is preceded in death by his great-grandmother Pat Towns, great-grandparents Park and Wanda Rozelle, great-grandparents Anita and Moses Star, great-grandfather John Pratt, and his grandfather Buddy McCallie.

He is survived by his parents Bobby and Rebecca and his siblings, Ashton, Brody, and Adyson, of the home, step brother and sister Nathan and Skylar McCallie; grandparents Tracy and Kim Towns of Bethany, Sherri Johns of Moore, and great-grandfather Marion Towns of Mustang; aunts and uncles, Krystal and Brian Adkins of Yukon, Jacob Towns of Bethany, Billy McCallie of Moore, and Misti McCallie of Moore; his many cousins he loved spending time with; as well as many special relationships with teachers, doctors, nurses, and friends.

Public visitation for Tucker will be held on Sunday, June 4th, from 1-8pm at McNeil’s Funeral Service in Mustang.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 5th, at 10am at Trinity Baptist Church in Yukon with burial to follow at Mustang Cemetery.
