Ray C. Hunter
<p>Ray C. Hunter passed away after an extended illness at age 65 on June 2, 2023.</p><p><br></p><p>Ray is sadly missed by his wife, Dorothy B. Hunter; children, Joshua Lewis, Rashad Hunter, Christina Hunter, Tanesha (Patrick) Williams, Shalanda “Peak” Hunter, Sonya “Shawty” Hunter, 6 grandchildren; parents, Jack and Alice Hunter; brother, Samuel (Delores) Hunter; sisters, Lynn (Scott) Walker & Regina Lee, all of Anderson, SC; One Aunt Mary C. Pulliam and One Uncle William Clemons.</p><p><br></p><p>His brother Brian Hunter preceded him in death.</p><p><br></p><p>Ray was born March 21, 1958, in Anderson, SC. He was baptized and received salvation on March 26, 2006, at Mount Able Baptist Church. He was a graduate of West Side High School, where He graduated on June 2, 1977. After graduation Ray started a career at Michelin Tire Corporation, where he worked for 35 years.</p><p><br></p><p>During retirement Ray enjoyed yardwork, grilling, vacationing with his family, exercising, and watching football. His favorite NFL team was the Pittsburgh Steelers. He enjoyed any college team that beat the Clemson Tigers. He also enjoyed being the chef and bus driver at Carolina Kids Learning Center, his family-owned business. He was a jokester with a contagious laugh that brought joy to his family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Acknowledgement from the Family: The family would like to thank the Crescent Hospice Staff for ensuring Ray received excellent care and comfort. Thank you to the I Own A Daycare Staff for all of your support and love shown. A very special thank you to my Squad sisters for life and my Squad brothers, thank you for traveling miles and miles to support us. Special acknowledgement to Pastor Kamau Dickerson and Dr. Andrea Dickerson. Thank you to the Mt. Able Church Family for your love shown to me and Ray throughout his illness.
