Burton Mitchell Bethune

<p>Burton Mitchell Bethune, age 87 from Carleton, Yarmouth Co. passed away peacefully on May 30,2023 at the Villa St. Joseph du Lac. Born in Forest Glen he was the son of the late Harry and Iola (Harding) Bethune. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was very proud of his family especially his grand children. He was a carpenter by trade and worked for many companies. He ended his career after 17 years with the Yarmouth School Board. He was an advent woodsman, enjoying fishing and hunting and spending time at his camp with his loving wife of 64 years. </p><p><br></p><p>He was an active member of the Carleton Fire Dept. for 35+ years. He was a trustee of the Forest Glen Cemetery. He attended Carleton United Baptist church and Yarmouth North Baptist Church. He was known as a generous man who enjoyed helping others. </p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife, Betty (Prime); daughter, Donna (Geoff) of Alberta; son, Mitchell (Beverley) of Yarmouth; daughter, Twyla (Tommy) of Hebron; grand children, Aaron (Adrian) Petruic, Ainsley and Macy Bethune, Rory and Brogan O'Brien ; sister, Linda (Mike) Hilton.
