<p>Greg was born November 5, 1960 in Monterey, California to Theodore (Ted) and Dessie Lee Ellis. He entered eternal rest on Friday, May 26, 2023.</p><p><br></p><p>Greg attended service at Victory Temple COGIC in Seaside, California.</p><p><br></p><p>Greg served 9 years in the United States Army and worked for Federal Express for 26 years and he was a lifelong member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). He enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, and spending quality time with his family and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Greg was preceded in death by his father Theodore (Ted) Ellis and brother Anthony Ellis.</p><p><br></p><p>Greg is survived by his wife, Marcella Ellis, his daughters Sherina Ellis, of Texas and Crystal Ellis, of Washington, Stepsons Darnell Williams, and Gerard Goforth, of Alaska. Mother Dessie Ellis of California, Step mother Sara Ellis of South Carolina, Sisters Connie Ellis of Maryland, Reta (Edward) Brooks, of North Carolina, Michelle Brooks, of Maryland and brother Stephen Ellis, of South Carolina. Grandchildren Rocko and Naleiah Giles-Goforth. Greg also has two sisters in law, Oglatha (Tim) Morgan and Alicia (Edward) Scott of Texas, A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends from all over who will miss him dearly.</p><p><br></p><p>The funeral service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Anchorage Funeral Home, located at 1800 Dare Avenue - viewing will be from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with the service starting immediately afterwards.</p><p><br></p><p>A repast will be held immediately after the service at the VFW Post 9978, located at 101 Oklahoma Avenue. <br></p>
