Ann Marie Bringgold Obituary

Age 64, of Coon Rapids passed away peacefully on May 30, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Ann was born March 4, 1959 in Park Rapids, Minnesota, to Harold and Alice (Crandall) Sorenson. She was one of five children and was raised on a farm near Menahga, Minnesota. Ann graduated from Atwater High School in 1977 where she was a multi-sport athlete (basketball, volleyball, and track and field) and accomplished member of the marching band. Ann went on to graduate from Mankato State University in 1981 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Ann worked in both public and private accounting for 22 years.

On March 26, 1983, Ann was united in marriage to Robert Bringgold in Owatonna and they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary this year. Ann and Robert have enjoyed spending summers at their camper on the Horseshoe Chain of Lakes for over 20 years. One of Ann’s favorite things to do was spend time on the pontoon with family and friends on a beautiful day.

She also enjoyed playing cards, taking family vacations, going shopping, reading a good book, dancing at weddings and concerts, watching Hallmark movies, enjoying a glass of white wine, and sharing laughter with friends. She cared for others deeply and was passionate about making sure those around her were comfortable and having a good time.

She is survived by her husband Robert Bringgold of Coon Rapids; daughter, Mylissa (and Craig) Merten of Lino Lakes; son, Michael Bringgold of Denver, Colorado; two sisters, Patricia (and Jack) Ulrich of Litchfield and Sheryl Mahn of Waite Park; brother, Harold Sorenson of Atwater; many nieces, nephews, and loving friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ronald Sorenson.
