<p>Michael “Mike” E. Paternoster, 70, of Bloomington, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at his home.</p><p>There will be no visitation or services at this time. Cremation rites have been accorded by Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VFW Auxiliary Post #454.</p><p><br></p><p>To express condolences online, please visit www.carmodyflynn.com.</p><p><br></p><p>He was born December 21, 1952 in Fairbury, son of Floyd and Illa Mae Blackmore Paternoster. He married Katherine A. Harsh on January 12, 1974 in Bloomington.</p><p><br></p><p>Surviving are his wife, Kathy, Bloomington; their daughter, Melissa (Eric) Nuttall, Olney; two grandchildren, Austin &amp; Gage Nuttall and two sisters, Donna Collings, Sacramento, CA and Becky (John) Flynn, Coal Valley. Also surviving are two brothers-in-law, Steve Harsh and Jim (Karen) Harsh, both of Normal; sister-in-law, Diane (Phil) Hudson, Normal and his mother-in-law, Verna Harsh, Bloomington.</p><p><br></p><p>He retired from Aramark Services in 2014, where he worked as a route representative.</p><p><br></p><p>Mike was a life-member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, lodge #527 and the VFW Auxiliary, post #454 and a member of the Bloomington Moose Lodge #745.</p><p><br></p><p>He also enjoyed golf and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears.</p><p><br></p><p>Mike will be fondly remembered for his outgoing personality and that he could get along with everyone.</p><p><br><br></p><p></p>
