Shawn Eric Gregory, 40, of Jeffersonville, Indiana formerly of Cowen, West Virginia completed his earthly journey and went home to be with the Lord on May 29, 2023 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, Indiana after battling an extended illness.

Shawn was born on April 9, 1983 in Summerville, West Virginia to the late Robert “Larry” Gregory Sr. and Janet (Harless) Gregory.  Shawn met his baseball babe of a wife Jennifer (Teller) Gregory in Princeton, West Virginia in 2003 and they later married on May 22, 2004.  Shawn and Jennifer were blessed with two children Kalli and Noah which they taught the importance of Jesus, baseball, and the values of life.

Shawn was sweet spirited and a man of honor who left such an impact on the lives of everyone around him.  He coached his children’s baseball teams through the years.  His presence only adding to the impact which his words of wisdom and love left on the lives of the parents and kids on each team he coached.  He additionally taught in the children and youth departments and served as a deacon of his church.  Shawn helped in the church’s outreach program where his gracious and caring attitude exemplified the love of God to everyone he came in contact with.

When Shawn wasn’t coaching or learning new techniques of baseball for his kids, he worked in the tire industry for many years where he managed Goodyear Tires of Louisville, Kentucky.  He formerly worked at Leslie Equipment in Norton, West Virginia in the parts department and at Interstate Battery in Clarksville, Indiana in the warehouse/delivery sector, and also as a meter reader in Bluefield, Virginia.

In addition to Shawn’s parents, he is preceded in death by his grandparents Orville & Carrie Gregory and Cecil & Irene Harless; grandfathers, Murray Israel and Al Teller.  Left to cherish his memory is his wife Jennifer (Teller) Gregory; children, Kalli and Noah Gregory; brothers, Robert Larry Gregory Jr (Bobby) of Elkins, West Virginia, Jeremy Gregory of Charlestown, Indiana, Brian Gregory (Alejandra) of Sellersburg, Indiana, and Joseph Gregory (Lisha) of Charlestown, Indiana; sisters, Tara Gregory of Troy, New York and Tiffany Gregory of Jeffersonville, Indiana; mother-in-law, Brenda Teller (Hank Niestemski) of Bridgeport, Connecticut; father-in-law, Howard Teller of Lexington, North Carolina; brother-in-law, Neil Teller (Juniza) of Ecuador, sister-in-laws, Cindy Teller of Lexington, North Carolina, Wendy Gregory of Philippi, West Virginia, and Amber Anderson pf Webster Springs, West Virginia; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Shawn was a man of faith and truly let his actions speak for the person he was.  He will be missed beyond measure not only by his loving family but every friend and person that he encountered.

There will be a visitation held on Sunday, June 4, 2023 from 1-5pm at Scott Funeral Home, 2515 Veterans Parkway, Jeffersonville, Indiana. Service is on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 12pm at Scott Funeral Home with more visitation before from 10-12pm. Burial will follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
