Gloria A. Hubbard McDaniel Obituary

Gloria Ann Hubbard McDaniel is the oldest daughter of five born to Elder Bobbie L. and Mrs. Rosa L. Hubbard in Radford, Virginia on October 2, 1948. Gloria transitioned peacefully from this life on Monday, May 29, 2023 after complications from Multiple Myeloma, assured by 2 Corinthians 5:1, AMP, “…...if the earthly tent [our physical body] which is torn down [through death], we have a building from God, a house not made with hands eternal in the heavens…” yet she claimed victory over sin and shame.


She was educated in the Stamford Public School System, graduating from Stamford High School in 1967. Gloria furthered her education receiving a degree in Early Childhood Education from Norwalk Community College in 1977.


Gloria was employed at Head Start of Stamford and American Cyanamid for many years. She retired in 2015 from St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Ct. as a Medical Secretary extraordinaire. During this time Gloria touched many people’s lives with her kind endearing smile and motherly words of wisdom.


Gloria loved the Lord, she was third generation Church of God In Christ member for many years. She served the Lord in many capacities beginning with Wilson Memorial COGIC under the leadership of Bishop C. H. Brewer Sr. and Bishop C. H. Brewer Jr. – First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Connecticut where the entire family served; she was a Licensed Evangelist Missionary under the leadership of Bishop Hester Bordeaux – Second Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Connecticut. She also fellowshipped with her husband Eld. Arthur McDaniel at Mt. Olive C.O.G.I.C. in New Britain, Ct. - pastored by Superintendent Ron Surry. Gloria began fellowshipping with The Greater Works Deliverance International Ministries where she was a Licensed Church Mother under Apostle Kelvin J. Newton, Sr. in Bridgeport, CT. She was a long-time member of Free Women In Christ International Ministries.


Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Elder Bobbie and Mrs. Rosa L. Hubbard; her youngest sister, Rosemarie Hubbard and her beloved husband, Elder Arthur McDaniel.


Gloria, affectionately known by all as “Moma G”, leaves to cherish many fond memories by her daughter Juana Edmond, her son Arthur McDaniel; four grandchildren; Tiffani Bains (Dewayne Nelson), Jeremy Edmond, Harold Edmond and James Edmond; two great-grandchildren Makalah and Onyx.


Moma G has an abundant number of special nephews, nieces, a host of friends and loved ones that spans over her time on this earth. A lifetime of love, laughter and special moments shared with her sisters Charlotte Yarboro, Bobbie Shannon (Selwyn her brother-in-love) and Cassie Hubbard.
