<p>KELLY</p><p>Debra Josephine</p><p>September 25th, 1970 – May 30th, 2023</p><p><br></p><p>It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Debra Josephine Kelly. Debra, aged 52, passed peacefully away at home after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband and children, who rarely left her side for the past 2 months. </p><p><br></p><p>Debra is predeceased by her father-in-law Peter Kelly. </p><p><br></p><p>Debra gave up her career at Irving Aviation and her dreams of opening a bakery to be a homemaker and raise her 3 beautiful children. Family was of utmost importance to Debra. Debra volunteered at the school library, Sunday school and was a leader for Sparks, Brownies and Guides for many years. She loved children and they loved her. Debra loved to bake and cook and her themed birthday parties were well renowned, along with her beautifully decorated cakes. Debra loved all things Disney, her family vacations, and the sun, but mostly any moments spent with her family. </p><p><br></p><p>She leaves to mourn her husband of 27 years, Craig, her children Emily (23), Julia (21) and Matthew (19), her mother Teresa, step-father Wayne, father Eric, and mother-in-law Patsy. She will be fondly remembered by her extended family and friends. </p><p><br></p><p>Thank you to her hematologists Dr. Grewal and Dr. Dunne for their care and dedication to finding a cure for Debra’s lymphoma. Thanks also to the rest of the hematology team and the oncology nurses at the Health Sciences Center in St. John’s for their outstanding care. Also, thank you to Dr. Sikazwe and the nurses at James Paton Memorial Hospital in Gander for their care and compassion. Thank you to Dr. Blundell and Greg Banfield for their care in her final weeks. </p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. </p><p><br></p><p>Cremation has taken place and family will be receiving friends at Stacey's Funeral Home, 60 Roe Avenue, Gander on Saturday June 3rd, 2023 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. </p><p><br></p><p>A celebration of life will take place on Sunday June 4th, 2023 at her home for family and friends starting at 3pm.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Stacey’s Funeral Home Gander/Carmanville and to leave a message of condolence please visit our website at www.staceysfuneralhome.ca. </p>
