Esther Hays
<p>Esther Pearl Hays, 88, of Winter Garden, Florida passed away on Wednesday May 31, 2023, in the comfort of her home, with her daughter Penny by her side. </p><p><br></p><p>Esther was born on October 7, 1934, in Wilmington, North Carolina to the late Rev. James & Lucille (Sessions) Colley. </p><p><br></p><p>Esther was a preacher’s daughter, so she moved around the Southeast growing up. (North Carolina, South Carolina, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida.</p><p><br></p><p>She met the love of her life and married Hayward Hays in August 1955, they were married almost 47 years when he passed away in 2002. </p><p><br></p><p>She worked at the Juice plant in Winter Garden for many years before going to work at Kmart where she worked for almost 20 years, until her retirement. </p><p><br></p><p>She was a lifelong member of the Church of God of Prophecy, with her membership being at held Ocoee Church of God of Prophecy. </p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by her only child Penny Hays, 1 brother Sam Colley and many nieces, many loving nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. </p><p><br></p><p>She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Hayward, 2- brothers John Colley and Nathan Colley, 1 sister Mary Cox. </p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday June 17, 2023, at 11:00 am for a celebration of Esther’s life at the Ocoee Church of God of Prophecy. </p><p><br></p><p>Esther's' arrangements are in the caring guidance of Winter Oak Funeral Home and Cremations, </p><p>1132 E.
