<p>Bernard Witty Cross, 70, died Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at his home in Lexington, KY.</p><p>A native of Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of the late Bonnie Jean Witty-Fortune. He was raised by the late Mr. and Mrs. Eliza Mason "Aunt Tee" from Paris Ky after his teenage years. He retired from the VA Hospital working for the Food Service Department where he was a CDL driver. He enjoyed playing in basketball tournaments and loved UK basketball.</p><p>He is survived by two children, Janelle Cross and Dameon Cross; three grandchildren, Aniya Hall, Forest Ray Hall II, and Roman J. Hall; three brothers, Maurice Fortune, Valiant Fortune, and Marcus Fortune; two sisters, Michelle Fortune-Medley and Detrices Fortune; a nephew, Glenn Cross and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles Words from his sister Michelle, "One thing I can say is that Bernard, my brother was always there for me and my children. He was always lifting and encouraging me even when he wasn't doing well, we would pray together and speak positive things that mattered. He would always tell me that he loves me and adores my kids and how they respect their aunts and uncles, I will always love my brother, and I will miss him dearly.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Cross; two sisters, Yolanda “Lonni” Cross-Anderson, Deborah Cross Jones and the mother of his children, Bernice Richardson.</p><p><br></p><p>Acknowledgements:</p><p>The family of Bernard Cross wishes to express our sincere appreciation for all prayers, visits, and acts of kindness shown during the time of his passing. Aaron Crumbie.</p><p>Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Friday June 9, 2023 until the hour of service at the funeral home. Burial to follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens, Paris, KY.</p><p><br></p><p>Pallbearers will be Forest Ray Hall II, Chez Marks, Joe Catlett</p><p><br></p><p>Honorary pallbearers will be James Landrum, Phil Stoner, Phillip Crumbie, Robert Crumbie and J.T. Obituary

Bernard Witty Cross, 70, died Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at his home in Lexington, KY.

A native of Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of the late Bonnie Jean Witty-Fortune. He was raised by the late Mr. and Mrs. Eliza Mason "Aunt Tee" from Paris Ky after his teenage years.
