<p>Edna was born in Homerville, Georgia to Rosalee McBride-Jones and William Sharpe. Edna moved from Georgia to Jacksonville, Florida as a young girl. She attended the local schools of Duval County and graduated from Matthew Gilbert in 1962. She also attended Edward Waters College and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. </p><p>Edna worked as a medical assistant in Dr. Warren Schell office. She was a leader in the community. She organized the country store in Hollybrook Home Apartments where she was also the Tenant’s Association President for many years. Last and not least she loved to sing and had a voice of an angel. </p><p>Edna Francis Coley Brown slept away peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, May 31, 2023. She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosalee Jones; father, William Sharpe; sister, Gennie Marie Johnson; aunts, Aretha Davis, and Dollie Tucker; uncles, Roosevelt Andrews, Alvin Andrews; cousins, Harold Andrews, Gettie Ross, Angelo Andrews; and granddaughter, Latoya Butler. </p><p>Edna’s life and legacy will forever be cherished by her sisters, Shelia Singleton and Joyce Jackson; children, David Sharpe, Sr. Lisa Robinson (Sanford), Dwayne Coley, Sr., James Coley (Loretha), Napoleon Jackson, Jr. and Shawn Coley, Sr. (Natasha); grandchildren, Christopher Smith (Shawnette), Jamie Darling (Sidique), Rica Brown (Stacy), Tierra Coley, Shawntell Coley, Dwayne Coley, Jr., Myrialysia Coley, Brandon McGraw, Fehlisa Coley, James Coley, Jr., Shawn Coley, Jr. and David Sharpe, Jr.; a host of great grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Tracey McGarvey (Owen), Stephen Johnson (Sabrina), Kimberly Johnson, Bettina Jones and Troy Jones; special friends, Eva Pickett, Earline Taggart and Joyce Jackson; expressions of gratitude to Velva Rackley, Frances Lynch, Deborah Bartley and Community Hospice. </p><p>Sarah L.
