Dr. Richard A Bradley of Gaithersburg Maryland passed away May 30 at the age of 76. Born in Long Beach, California, he attended the University of California at Riverside where he received a PhD in economics and then served in the U.S. Navy. He later taught at the University of Texas at Dallas before joining the U.S Department of Energy in 1978. During his D.O.E. tenure he spent 3 years on loan to the O.E.C.D. in Paris,and worked globally at a high level to shape US Policy on Climate Change, before finishing his career at the forefront of global climate change policy with the International Energy Agency in his family’s beloved Paris. He rose to became a respected expert and leader in his field, contributing to the IPCC awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, but where Rick truly excelled was as a person. A beloved friend, brother, and uncle, he was above all a wonderful husband and father. Rick is survived by Susan his wife of 55 years, his son Chris, sisters Carol, Mona, brother Ron, brother in law William, and countless family and friends from California to Europe and beyond.
